Hippie Chick Twang's New Horizons!
A fresh independent label, expands to provide artist development, label services, production development, publishing, and publicity for recording artists and songwriters.
(PRWEB) August 12, 2005 -- Hippie Chick Twang Records has expanded into a multi-media company providing label services, publicity, artist development, media training, music publishing representation, and production as well.
There is a huge need for grass roots and affordable services for artists who are hitting the great frontier of the music world today. A recording artist who is independent needs to be aware of all the back doors and open windows for getting their music heard. Major labels, also have a problem with new artists on their rosters. Artists are signed and sent on a radio tour, with no real experience as to 'what interviewers want'.
Hippie Chick Twang was started in 2001, as a creative umbrella for worthy female singer/songwriters, outside the norm or 'box' created by mainstream Nashville record labels. It was created as another avenue for great music for women. As the company has developed, more needs have become apparent in the marketplace.
First, publicity and exposure is a problem for all start-up artist careers. Second, there are many great songwriters who would like to maintain autonomy with their song catalogs, yet want their songs pitched to recording acts. There are songwriters not located in Nashville, who want their songs pitched regularly on Music Row, without having to relocate. Third, many artists have talent, but haven't honed their 'sound' enough to make them identifiable and unique. They've performed on stages, but not in the studio. Lastly, recording artists usually have very little journalism/media background, so interviews at the start of a career are shaky and can have lasting damaging effects.
Hippie Chick Twang is comprised of studio, songwriting, media/broadcast, and publishing professionals who have collectively logged over 60 years of Music Row accomplishments. Kim McLean, an award winning songwriter/artist, is a nurturing developer of artists in the studio. Her songs have been recorded by Tim McGraw, Lee Ann Womack, Jennifer Hanson, and more. She's had production projects in development for Capital, Sony, and Warner Brothers. Her most recent project for Lisa Brokop for Curb Records, has been nominated for Album of the Year for the upcoming Canadian Country Music Awards. She also co-wrote the title cut nominated for Song of the Year.
Devon O'Day is a veteran of mainstream country radio, with over 25 years experience in both local and national radio markets. Her voice has been heard on television internationally, and her ad campaigns have been award winners. As a journalist/author her work has appeared in countless music sites and various publications. Shes been interviewed as an industry expert by CMT, worked the red carpet for E! Entertainment, done national radio specials for Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, the Dixie Chicks, and more. She is also an award winning songwriter with credits by George Strait, Trace Adkins, Lee Ann Womack, Hank Williams, Jr, and more.
Mark Parsons, a graduate of MTSU in Recording Industry Management, has fresh innovative ideas about getting music to a new generation of music buyers. Well versed in electronic media, the new retail industry, and equipped with a great love for songwriting and pitching songs, he brings unbounded energy to finding homes for songs with artists in all genres.
Joe Johnston is a veteran of several major label positions in production, administration, as well as a thriving free-lance career in marketing/graphics for a host of clients including McDonalds, The U.S. Armed Forces, and Thomas Nelson Publishers. Hes also an award winning songwriter, with great production studio expertise, running his own Rhythm Rascal record label. Joe has worked as music supervisor on many films and documentaries, as well as administrating music and copyrights for national TV shows, a successful publishing company, and handled mechanical royalties for Hippie Chick Twang.
Some services provided by Hippie Chick Twang are outsourced, providing the very finest representation at the most competitive prices. Research in an ever changing music workplace has provided experience in the new arenas of music. An artist must hone their craft as an artist, but seldom has the time or expertise to specialize in their marketing, press packages, studio development or administration.
The label services and artist development packages available through Hippie Chick Twang are personally tailored to the needs and budgets of approved clients. A high bar of excellence is required for all clients of Hippie Chick Twang before acceptance to the roster. An understanding of the most effective way to spend marketing/production dollars in the music marketplace is a huge consideration researched by Hippie Chick Twang.
A one stop shop for development in an artists career to get them prepared for the runway, on the runway, and into the skys new music horizons is the mission of Hippie Chick Twang, located in the Miller Harris Building on Sixteenth Avenue, Nashville.
