Birth Photography taking off in Austin

While some have turned their noses up at portrait photographers in the delivery room, some parents are wishing they had found out about it sooner.

(PRWEB) August 14, 2005 -- Natalie Blake is a professional photographer and a mother of five. In 1995 she first videotaped the birth of her second child. A few weeks after the delivery she viewed the video and knew she was on to something. She has since recorded the delivery of the rest of her children (yes, she is finished having babies, for now).

Until recently, Natalies Birth Portrait service was never really as popular as she had hoped. Perhaps prospective parents had a hard time imagining that they wanted to remember that time in graphical detail. But this past year all that has changed. Natalie Blake Photography now attributes over half of her business to Birth Photography.

When asked why, Natalie responds: I think new parents are open to more options than they used to be. Midwife services used to be fairly rare, now they are springing up everywhere. Maybe its just the Austin mentality. Whatever it is, my birth sessions have more than tripled since last year. Im even adding a 'Birth section to my website."
