"Interpretation of Black of Hanson Brown" is a Collaboration of Artist, D. Lammie-Hanson & Musician, Stanley Brown

"The Interpretation of Black of Hanson Brown" is the ethnic and pop culture approach to what it is to be Black in the current world socities through the eyes and ears of artist, D. Lammie-Hanson and musician, Stanley N. Brown.

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 15, 2005 -- On September 8, 2005 6-9 PM, the dual media exhibit of "Interpretation of Black of Hanson Brown" will debut at the ElevenTen Gallery, 1110 Fulton St, Clinton Hill, Brooklyn NY. It is the first time collaboration of the artist, D. Lammie-Hanson and musician, Stanley Brown, guitarist of D-XTREME.

The color and the cultural of Black in current popular American society takes on different forms.

Two African-American artists both from Brooklyn, NY have come together to collaborate their vision and sound of what Black means to them and the communities that they live in.

D. Lammie-Hanson, an artist who lives in Brooklyn has lived in predominantly African-American communities most of her life has been influenced to document certain nuances. Lammie has been exhibiting throughout New York City and has shown in Berlin, Germany at the Gallery Oder 24 with her Black on Black Series. Lammie is a co-founder of SONYA, South Of the Navy Yard Artists and is actively involved in the Arts community in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Brooklyn.

The musician, Stanley N. Brown, has always been inspired by the state of the world particularly the youth of urban neighborhoods. Brown who is the guitarist to the hardcore power funk band, D-XTREME believes in the promise of the future of African-American youth. He was inspired to do this collaboration with Lammie when he experienced her Black on Black series. He was interested to interpret the visual into his own sound design.

For the dual show, "Interpretation of Black of Hanson Brown", the journey of what is Black, the color and culture, means to them and then designing their own template into an exhibit to celebrate what it is to be Black.
