The 3rd Annual Fall Festival scheduled for September 17.

This event brings much anticipation and excitement to the community with artwork and products from local artists and craftspeople, musical entertainment, and a host of free activities for children of all ages.

Sometimes we forget just how rich our local artistic traditions are," Education Specialist and Fall Festival Coordinator Devon Murphy Stein said. The Remington Fall Festival is one way to celebrate autumn and the harvest season, as well as the wonderful arts and crafts produced locally."

Attendees to the festival will receive free admission to both the Frederic Remington Art Museum, and the Eva Caten Remington Education Center, also known as Kids Place.

This is an event that The Frederic Remington Art Museum puts on each year for the community," said Mrs. Murphy Stein. Everything is free to the public except the horse-drawn wagon rides and refreshments."

Activities for the day include: live music, art and craft sales, art activities for kids, a homemade pie contest, local produce, refreshments, horse-drawn wagon rides, and demonstrations including glassblowing, blacksmith, and weaving. This year the museum has also added a petting zoo component to the festival, courtesy of the Thompson Park Zoo in Watertown.

We also have two Madrid business who will bring alpacas to the event along with products made from their wool," Mrs. Murphy Stein said.

Other featured events include a jazz ensemble from Morristown Central School and jewelry maker Karan Cross, the wife of the museums new Executive Director Edward Lavarnway.

I still have openings for one or two musicians or groups to perform at this event, said Mrs. Murphy Stein. I also encourage artists, sculptors, and vendors to set up a booth."

The fee for setting up a booth at this event is $10. To reserve a booth at the festival please visit the museum website.

Mark your calendars this is one event you wont want to miss.
