– Atlassian Software Systems today announced the release of JIRA 3.3, the latest release of the company's flagship, professional issue tracking application. Only 10 weeks since its last release, JIRA 3.3 continues Atlassian's commitment to frequent, quality software updates. Including some of the most requested features and improvements, this release delivers support for multiple project filtering, new bulk move capabilities, extended date and number searching, additional language translations, improved performance and much more. With over 130 individual improvements, JIRA continues to drive innovation in the professional issue tracking industry.

Although tracking and managing the issues, tasks, bugs and change requests that emerge during a project is a critically important task, it is one that few teams do effectively. JIRA is a web-based issue tracking application that helps organisations take the philosophy of project management deeper into the organisation by providing an accessible, agile platform that is highly usable by both technical and business users alike. The improvements introduced in JIRA 3.3 demonstrate Atlassian's goal to make JIRA the most accessible and powerful issue tracking tool on the market.

Searching for issues in JIRA has never been easier, or more powerful, with JIRA's Issue Navigator being completely overhauled to pave the way for extended search functionality and enhancements. One of the most noticeable enhancements in JIRA 3.3 is the ability to execute a search across multiple projects. New search filters also allow date ranges to be selected regarding issues' creation and updated dates or across any issues' date & time custom field. In addition, a number range can now also be specified for the 'Number' custom field. These capabilities allow users to design a search query that addresses their exact search requirements.

Usability continues to evolve with new bulk move capabilities. The ability to move multiple issues between projects gives the user even more power - for instance, it is now possible to merge issues from multiple projects into one project. For those working with JIRA on a daily basis, this represents a productivity boost.

Continuing Atlassian's commitment to provide accessible, interoperable and extensible software, JIRA 3.3 brings advanced SOAP enhancements and extended XML-RPC functionality. This release also introduces Italian and Slovakian translations, and provides updates to the Traditional Chinese and German translations. JIRA is in fact now available in 12 different languages.

JIRA continues to stand out from the crowd. As one customer eloquently explains: "JIRA beats them all soundly in terms of ease of use, versatility and overall features - all at a price that's nearly a steal." Perhaps this is why JIRA is now used in thousands of organisations in over 50 countries, NASA, Boeing, GE, Sony, AOL, World Bank, United Nations, McDonalds, Harvard, Stanford, MIT and many, many more!).
