Coverage Area Of Transnet Wireless Hot Spot In Dana Point Harbor, Ca, Dramatically Expanded Through New Technology
The coverage area of a popular Transnet Wireless Wi-Fi Hot Spot in Dana Point Harbor, Calif., was vastly expanded recently to cover up to three square miles -- enabling boaters in two marinas to access the Internet -- with the help of cellular-approach technology from Marina Del Rey, Calif.-based 5G Wireless Communications.
Plantation, Fla. (PRWEB) August 16, 2005 --- The coverage area of a popular Transnet Wireless W-Fi Hot Spot in Dana Point Harbor, Calif., was vastly expanded recently to cover up to three square miles -- enabling boaters in two marinas to access the Internet -- with the help of cellular-approach technology from Marina Del Rey, Calif.-based 5G Wireless Communications. The move highlights the skyrocketing growth of and demand for wireless Internet access, and underscores the increasing interest in the service in unique markets.
This coverage area expansion is indicative of the trend in Wi-Fi service," said Brad Cartwright, president of Transnet Wireless. People are demanding this service in more areas, such as marinas and other once-unheard-of spots. Transnet Wireless and its distributors are developing innovative ways to offer the most comprehensive wireless Internet coverage."
Transnet Wireless is establishing a national network of Wi-Fi Hot Spots through an innovative private local distributorship program in which the Hot Spot equipment (built into an Internet access kiosk) is placed in locations at no cost to the location owner. The hardware, maintenance and monthly Internet connection fees are all paid for by the local distributor, who profits from usage fees. A percentage of the revenues are also shared with the location.
The coverage area for the Transnet Wireless Hot Spot, owned by distributor Anne Vallone of OC Hot Spotz, was expanded to most of the Dana Point Harbor by 5G Wireless using a rooftop Base Station with a 120-degree antenna. Dana Point Harbor, located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego on the Orange County Coast, houses two marinas within a one-and-a-half-mile jetty with 2,500 boat slips, 25 shops, 20 restaurants, two yacht clubs, a hotel and a public park.
Vallone, who has Transnet Wireless Hot Spots (kiosks) in three other California locations -- including All Hands Car Wash in Aliso Viejo; Laguna Hills Mall in Laguna Hills; and the Westminster Mall in Westminster -- said the coverage area expansion will improve an already popular service in the area. Its exciting -- the Harbor is just thrilled that they can have wi-fi Internet service for the boaters and merchants," she said, adding, The Transnet Wireless Kiosk has become the concierge of the Harbor, located in the Coffee Importers coffee shop owned by Jim Miller." Vallone further explained her satisfaction with choosing Transnet Wireless as the provider of wi-fi. The company has been great. If something goes wrong, they fix it right away," she said.
