According to Cole, most apparel companies create fashions for one specific culture. They tend to be pigeonholed into one fashion culture. With most apparel designers, the surfer look, the gothic look, and the urban look tend to never cross paths."
Core of Nothing subscribes to the notion that marketing and advertising shouldnt dictate what you wear and who you become.
If you like surfer shorts, wear them. If you like gothic t-shirts, wear them. If you like urban underground apparel, wear it," says Cole. And if you like them all, wear them all together."
Cole, along with three partners, started Core of Nothing after realizing that so much of what they wear comes from different fashion cultures. We liked some elements of urban underground, we liked some elements of the hardcore music scene, and so on. But we werent able to find them all in a cohesive design from one source, so we started a company that embraces virtually every subculture."
Currently, Core of Nothing apparel is available in tattoo shops and chopper shops. With an eye toward expanding their catalog to include vintage western apparel with a tattoo flare, several urban boutique shops are quickly taking notice.
Cole also notes that several recording artists have already embraced their line of apparel. Black Label Society, Seemless, The Finalist, Demon Hunter, and The Showdown are among the bands who wear our designs. And the list is growing."
