Oct. 1 Show to Mix Horror and Heavy Metal

The Art Studio in Beaumont, Texas, will play host to a mini-horror convention/heavy metal show Oct. 1 that includes actors from franchises like Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween and House of 1,000 Corpses.

(PRWEB) August 19, 2005 -- Jason Voorhees, the camp killer from the highly popular Friday the 13th franchise, is coming to the Art Studio 720 Franklin in Beaumont, Texas, Oct 1.

And he is bringing friends from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1,000 Corpses and Halloween franchises along with him.

Monster metal act FREAK13 is hosting their second annual horror/metal show to celebrate the release of their new single Crystal Lake" (which includes a narration by Betsy Palmer who played Jasons mom in Friday the 13th).

Appearing at the event will be Ari Lehman, the first ever Jason from the original Friday the 13th, Bill Johnson, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Irwin Keyes from House of 1,000 Corpses, Syn Devil (Vampire Sisters) and Tom Morga (tentative) who played Jason in Friday the 13th Part 5 and Michael Myers in Halloween 4.

Last years event was a big success and this year we have more horror celebs, including the actor who played the very first incarnation of Jason Voorhees," said FREAK13 bassist/vocalist Chester Moore.

Horror fans will be able to get autographs and pictures taken with the celebs and take part in a panel discussion about the films.

People last year just couldnt believe they were getting to interact with actors who played such iconic characters. Well, this year we brought more of them and promise it will be an even better show. We plan on kicking off the month of October the right way by bringing true icons of horror to Beaumont and of course giving them a more than ample dose of metal," Moore said.

FREAK13, Six Past Hell and Shuteye will provide the musical entertainment at the event.

"We're bringing out some of our favorite bands from Texas to do the show. Six Past Hell and Shuteye along with us cover a wide range of metal from modern to monster to molten. And we're (FREAK13) are going to be jamming with Ari Lehman (Jason 1) who is a phenomenal musician," Moore said.

"He came up onstage with us at the Whisky in LA and did "Crystal Lake". We can't wait to jam with Jason in Beaumont," said FREAK13 guitarist Scot Lackey.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are only $6.

This is an all ages show benefitting Project: Zoo Quest, an charity organization that supports wildlife/endangered species conservation and research around the world.
