Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) August 20, 2005 -- MEDai, Inc., an Orlando-based firm that assists healthcare organizations in improving care by forecasting high-risk patients, announced that its predictive modeling technology ranked highest among all University of California affiliates in the 2005 University of California Data Mining Contest.
The University of California Data Mining Contest provides a forum for teams to test their data mining skills on real-world data sets. This year, teams competed to build a system that correctly predicts useful information about a customer's account based on the history of transactions such as Classification (predicting whether an account is bad) and Time Series Analysis (predicting when an account turns bad). MEDais technology also won first place in the prestigious, international German Classification Society competition, also known as GFKL. These most recent accomplishments will be added to a growing list of international awards MEDai has received in the area of predictive modeling and data mining over the years. In 2003 and 2004, MEDai placed first in the world of predictive modeling, winning both tasks assigned within the International ACM KDD competition.
MEDais award-winning predictive technology is the foundation for its Risk Navigator Clinical. Risk Navigator Clinical accurately forecasts high-risk members where there is the greatest opportunity to impact cost and quality of care. Its prediction engine uses the right combination of linear and non-linear models to correctly fit" the characteristics of an organizations population. The result is improved accuracy that can be traced right to the bottom line through improved management, more focused programs and better resource allocation.
For more than a decade, MEDai has delivered the most accurate predictive modeling technology to the healthcare market," said Steve Epstein, CEO/President of MEDai. The performance of our technology in the 2005 UC Data Mining contest is another testament to the ability of our methodologies and our commitment to providing award-winning solutions to providers and payors."
