U2 Tribute Band Vertigo USA Teams Up with Katie Cares for Child Passenger Safety

U2 Tribute Band Vertigo USA performs in Forest Park, IL, to raise awareness for child passenger safety advocates Katie Cares.

(PRWEB) August 20, 2005 -- Thursday September 1, 2005 at 9:30pm, The U2 tribute band Vertigo USA will perform at Zambonie's in Forest Park, IL.
Portions of the admission receipts will be donated to Katie Cares, an organization raising awareness about child passenger safety.

Katie Cares is a charitable foundation where the central focus is Safety First, Every Child, Every Time. The organization was founded by Margaret and Richard Rossiter. A tragic auto accident took the life of their 20-year-old daughter, Katie, and two other people. Several others were severely injured, but Katies 7-month old daughter, Makaela, miraculously escaped with only two small bruises on her inner thighs.

The loss of Katie was heartbreaking to those whose lives she touched. However, the knowledge that Katie saved Makaelas life through her insistence that her daughter always be secured in a car seat comforts them. Katie Cares was formed to preserve this memory.

The foundation enhances the knowledge of the public with respect to the importance of car seat safety. This goal is accomplished through the provision of car seats to the underprivileged and education in the form of informational brochures and instructional programs. The hope is that
other childrens lives will be saved by delivering this important message.

Vertigo USA is a chicago based U2 tribute band that uncanningly recreates the U2 concert experience. Complete with a Bono look alike and a live band reproducing the sonic textures of U2's extensive music catalog, Vertigo has wowed audiences with their performances.

"We're looking forward to another great show at Zambonie's, more importantly, we're happy to be associated with the Katie Cares organization with this show" noted Greg Flamm, guitarist with Vertigo.

Flamm knows a thing or two about the U2 tribute scene. He has been involved in a number of successful U2 tributes since '86, as well as involvement with U2 fan conventions through the years. When asked if he has met U2, Flamm answers "yes, a couple of times -- mostly Bono, he's very accomodating to the fans." "The Edge" of Vertigo, Flamm goes on to recall his favorite story of meeting Bono during the Popmart tour of '97. Stop ands ask him about it at Zambonie's.
