Executive Excellence Announces 2005 Top Leadership Development Programs

Executive Excellence surveyed over 500 organizations in North America and ranked the best leadership development programs in 7 industries.

Provo, Utah (PRWEB) August 22, 2005 -- Executive Excellence, a global leadership development firm, announced the top leadership development programs in North America in the September issue of its monthly magazine, Leadership Excellence.

This prestigious award recognizes the best programs and practices, based on seven crucial areas for leadership: 1) Vision/mission; 2) involvement and participation; 3) measurement and accountability; 4) design, content, and curriculum; 5) presenters, presentations, and delivery; 6) take-home value for participants; and 7) outreach and outcomes of the programs and products.

We surveyed 500 organizations to capture and assess the best leadership development practices," said Ken Shelton, CEO of Executive Excellence and author of Beyond Counterfeit Leadership. We want to recognize those individuals and organizations that take seriously the art of developing leaders."

Winners in Seven Categories
The following organizations were ranked #1 in Leadership Development:
•Analytical Graphics (small to midsize organizations)
•Caterpillar University (large corporations)
•University of Michigan (education/universities/schools of management)
•The Human Capital Institute (non-profit organizations)
•The Defense Acquisition University (government/military)
•Jim Collins (small independent consultants/trainers/coaches)
•Results Based Leadership (large consulting groups)

These programs deliver the best return on investment," Shelton said. Participants come in with clear expectations and go away with concrete applications and accountability for application and results. The expectation is that every function will meet the same high standards. In the best programs, leadership development is worth the investment. In the worst programs, it is largely as waste of time and money."

A complete listing of the results will be published in the September issue of Leadership Excellence, a global leadership magazine, with a print circulation of approximately 100,000 readers worldwide. Leadership Excellence specializes in leadership development, managerial effectiveness, and organizational productivity. For the past 21 years, each issue has provided individuals with a selection of recent articles by top consultants, leaders, and trainers.
