HappiestPlace.com, a new website for planning trips to Disneyland, Walt Disney World, as well as Disney Cruise Lines has started contest to increase readership. One determined reader that posts the most messages on the HappiestPlace.com Discussion boards before January 1, 2006 will win a replica Disneyland Dedication Plaque.

“Right now we have zip, no readership and no activity. We are just getting started,” stated Scott Ames owner of the site. “We hope with this contest to attract those interested in Disney travel and have them start sharing thoughts, tips, and information with each other.”

The Discussion boards on HappiestPlace.com have many subject areas including those entitled: Walt Disney World Attractions, Disneyland Attractions, Park Tickets, Trip Planning, Dining, and Hidden Mickey's. There is also an area where readers can swap and trade Disney items.

“Those wishing to use the Discussion Boards on HappiestPlace.com simply need to register for an account, validate their e-mail address, and they can post,” states Mr. Ames.

“It's going to be a fun and dare I say, Happy Place to communicate about Disney.”

When asked why he started the site, Mr. Ames stated: “Because I love Disney, especially travel to Disney theme parks and this is my passion. I know there are other sites out there doing the same thing, but I wanted my own. I don't expect to make money with it, I expect to have fun.”

The contest prize is a replica Disneyland Dedication Plaque that is sold by Disney and was created in honor of the 50th anniversary of Disneyland. It's made of wood, bronze, and plastic and sells for $59.95 on the Disney website. The inscription on the plaque is:

“Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past -- and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.

Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America -- with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to the entire world. July 17, 1955."

To enter the contest a reader only needs to register for an account on the site and start posting messages according to the rules of the site. The site address is http://www.happiestplace.com and the contest rules are posted under the menu item “HappiestPlace Contest.”
