Hailing from the same scene that has produced The Strokes, Interpol and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jonny Lives!,lead singer Jonny Dubowsky, bassist Mikki James and drummer Jon Webber carve out a unique sound that is steeped in the verities of garage-punk and its antecedents. Seminal U.K. rock journal NME said the band is Ânot just another bunch of well groomed Manhattanites indeed (Jonny) does live... but we had no idea he was in a shit-cool NY rock and roll band On ÂGet Steady, Jonny Dubowsky manages to sound exactly like 'Raw Power' era Iggy. ÂCliché a second song from the single includes guitar solos from members of The Strokes, Fountains of Wayne and the Mooney Suzuki.
The group has recently been touring the Northeast and performed a residency in June and July at the Lit club on New YorkÂs Lower East Side.
