Lipotherapy in St. Louis, Missouri, Is Becoming the New Alternative to Liposuction

Lipotherapy, also known as Lipodissolve is becoming more and more popular every day. There are now a few locations in the St. Louis, Missouri, area that offers these services -- and all at a different cost.

(PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- Lipotherapy is a process of injecting medication into the subcutaneous layer of fat cells, which will then destroy those fat cells in the injected area. The treatment is meant to be used for small pockets of fat, such as eye pads, double chins, love handles, bellies, inner thighs, saddle bags, etc.

This process is done with minimal discomfort in a series of 4 treatments at least two weeks apart, with a re-evaluation in three months after the last session. Usually six to seven injections are given per area, with some stinging and burning for about 15 to 30 minutes afterward. The area does get sore, and will sometimes bruise, but these are transient effects. It is best to limit each session to four areas of the body, each area being approximately 80 cm squared of skin surface. The results are long lasting because the fat cells are truly destroyed, but if you gain a lot of weight the body will store it somewhere!

Although this is a newer idea to the United States, the procedure has been used for over 10 years in Brazil and about as long in Europe. The medication, phosphatidylcholine, has been used intravenously for more than 30 years to dissolve fat emboli in the blood stream. Every practice that follows Dr. Patricia Rittes pioneered discovery uses the same single medication, and close to the same technique. Yet, some doctors charge the cost of liposuction while others are about ½ of that cost, in order to be more affordable to those in need.

Dr. Amy Miller and Adrienne Van Camp from St. Louis Skin Solutions, have been trained at the International Seminars and Training Events with Pioneers and World Authorities in both mesotherapy and Lipotherapy by Dr. Le COZ, MD, Dr. Patricia Rittes, MD & Dr. Roman Chubaty, MD. Dr. Miller is also a member of Members of the International Meso-Lipotherapy Society.
