SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. (PRWEB) August 24, 2005 -- Nara Luxury Medical Spa of Southborough helped kick off a visit from retired Coast Guard Captain Larry Brudnicki, the man who engineered two dramatic rescues during the worst storm in 100 years, spawning the New York Times best-selling book and blockbuster movie "The Perfect Storm."
Brudnicki is in the Corridor Nine area of Massachusetts to deliver a speech on "Courage Under Pressure" at the Blackstone National Golf Club today as part of an all-day event being hosted by the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce. As an active member of the Chamber and one of the most luxurious establishments within its area, Nara Luxury MedSpa hosted a private evening reception for Brudnicki catered by Boianis Italian Market. Nara also provided the captain and his wife two of the spas signature services yesterday --- a massage and facial, respectively.

Brudnickis most famous heroics came in October of 1991 when three separate storms originating from Canadas mainland, Nova Scotia and Bermuda converged off the coast of New England to form one storm of hurricane strength. Over a span of 100 hours, Brudnicki and his crew twice traveled into the storm --- whose eye alone spanned 1,500 miles --- to rescue ships at sea. He retired in March 2002 after serving 30 years in the Coast Guard.
