New Business Ethics Book Provides Unique Approach To Common Ethics Problems; Draws Wide Praise

Psychologist and business ethics training expert, Dr. Christopher Bauer, has just released a new book that helps readers learn to prevent ethics problems so that they arent forever doomed to clean up after them.

(PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- Psychologist and business ethics training expert, Dr. Christopher Bauer, has just released a new book that helps readers learn to prevent ethics problems so that they aren't forever doomed to clean up after them.

The book is entitled "Better Ethics NOW: How To Avoid The Ethics Disaster You Never Saw Coming" and the immediate response has been overwhelmingly positive, reports Dr. Bauer.

"My hope was to write a book with wide appeal in the business community." says Dr. Bauer. "Rather than churning out one more tired review of the ethics code and case law, I wanted to write a brief, engaging book on the basic psychology of ethics problems and how individuals and companies can easily use that information to reduce the risk of ethics violations. My aim was to provide companies with a unique approach to reducing ethics risk, make it quick to read and extremely easy to implement. "

"The fact is", states Dr. Bauer, "that companies need to see that better ethics require teaching employees much more than just the rules and corporate values. Everyone also needs to learn how best to take personal responsibility for their behavior as well as the tools they need to build ethically attuned thinking into their day-to-day decision-making. This book is an effort to both ask the right kinds of questions and provide the right kinds of 'nuts and bolts' tools to jumpstart that process."

Among the related topics also covered in "Better Ethics NOW" are how best to confront others regarding ethics concerns, basic do's and don'ts of consulting on ethics issues, and how to support colleagues and co-workers in maintaining ethical practices. The book covers many of the same tools and techniques Dr. Bauer brings to consulting with work groups and management teams on how to effectively set the tone for improved ethics throughout their organizations.

So far, the book seems to have hit its mark.

When asked for his thoughts on the book, Olen Parker, COO of the American Design Drafting Association states, "This book meets ethics challenges head on with simple solutions, keeping you from having to learn them in the school of hard knocks." He adds, "It's a great handbook not just for business but for everyday life!"

Fellow ethics expert, Frank Bucaro, CSP, CPAE, adds "Dr. Bauer's background, insights and experience make this book a true 'reality check' regarding how you and your company are dealing with ethics." Still further praise has come from such business leaders as Joe Rolwing, Director of Cumberland Emerging Technologies who strongly encourages managers and executives to read the book for the way it "nails how to stop rationalizing your way through ethical challenges and take more responsibility for your choices." He goes on further to say, "This is a book everyone should re-read once a year just to keep the message fresh."

More information, review copies, and direct book purchases are available through Dr. Bauer's website (www.bauerethicsseminars.com). Dr Bauer publishes a free "Weekly Ethics Thought" to which one can subscribe through the same website as well.
