New Satirical Website: Shameless Publicity
Shameless Publicity URL http://www.shamelesspublicity satirically looks at publicity hounds in politics, entertainment, and the media Itself. At one time people like Babe Ruth, Charles Lindbergh, etc. gained publicity or fame through unique achievement. Many current celebrities or "celebrity wannabees" without any extraordinary talents realize that the media can offer fame to anyone who has figured out the "system." This drives such people to become Publicity Hounds and great targets for satire. That's where we come in.
(PRWEB) August 26, 2005 -- Shameless Publicity http://www.shamelesspublicity.com is a new satirical website targeting Publicity Hounds in politics, entertainment, and the media.
Regarding politics we lampoon people on both sides of the aisle. Party affiliation is of less interest to us than the urge to get in front of the camera.
We provide satirical essays every week and also do shorter pieces covering the daily news.
We think this "Real-Time" component to our website makes us reasonably unique and puts us humor-wise on par with much larger websites and other media sources.
Though new we've already had articles on people ranging from Rep. Tom DeLay to Senator Hillary Clinton in politics, and Oprah Winfrey to Michael Jackson in entertainment.
Our latest entry is an exclusive interview of Osama bin Laden by Party Girl Extraordinaire Twyla Throneberry, who ruined two pairs of Prada shoes making her way to see the Prince of Darkness.
We believe that the success of The Daily Show and other vehicles is due to the creative use of humor from a variety of perspectives, without vacuous ranting, and we agree with that philosophy.
Thus our policy for contributors is: "We don't care about your point of view, as long as you're funny!"
With all the serious issues facing us, we at Shameless Publicity believe that humor, pointed but not petty or puerile, can "lighten the load" just a bit.
