Many Find that Changed Thinking Helps Improve Job Satisfaction, Increase Income, and Improve Health

How a daily affirmation can change your life by helping you change the way you think. Riches and Honor: Transform Your Life with God's Powerful Word merges the time-honored principles of Napoleon Hills Think & Grow Rich with the practical disciplines of Bruce Wilkinsons The Prayer of Jabez into a study of Isaiah 60. The affirmation can be used as a daily meditation, small group study tool, or a great gift.

(PRWEB) August 27, 2005 -- Is your job being affected by your health, or is your health being affected by your job? And the answer is, YES! Both concepts are true. The Gallup Organization polled Americans and found that 67 percent of Americans who earn $30,000 or less per year are still worried about their familys financial future.

With employers seeking alternative methods for providing health coverage for their employees, some of the burden for these costs is being shifted to the employees. Health care costs top the list as the most important financial problem families face. Second on the list is lack of money and low wages. Interestingly, lack of money and job satisfaction both contribute significantly to health conditions.

Over the years, the emphasis of most companies employee development efforts have been directed at helping their workers improve in the areas of their weaknesses. They have believed that when employees are well rounded, they will perform at a higher level. The areas of their strengths are taken for granted, and they are encouraged to take classes or attend training that will strengthen their weaknesses. The thought process is that every one can learn to do anything, and the areas for greatest growth occur in the areas of weakness.

Researchers are finding the contrary. Through extensive study, the Gallup Organization has found that successful managers hone in on the differences in their employees. They capitalize on what makes each one unique. These managers realize that employees greatest areas for growth lie in the areas of their greatest strengths. This is where they can make the most significant contribution to the company.

Unfortunately, this research has not reached the masses. While more people are expressing satisfaction in their jobs, many still have not realized their unique strengths, which contributes to overall satisfaction. The rate of unemployment is forcing people to expand their knowledge base in an attempt to maintain employment rather than build their strengths to experience job satisfaction. As a result, people are accepting positions doing work that produces high levels of stress and dissatisfaction.

Financial success and job satisfaction are both by-products of another function -- thinking -- which can also affect health. Doctors admit that many of our ailments originate in our thoughts, fears, and expectations. A change in thinking must occur with the employee as well as the employer so that workers can experience better job performance and health. Napoleon Hill wrote Think and Grow Rich which emphasizes redirecting thought to produce desired results. Recently, Bruce Wilkinson introduced the Prayer of Jabez which encourages readers to expand their thinking.

New to the market is a book that merges the two trains of thought. Riches and Honor: Transform Your Life with Gods Powerful Word by Linda C. Newberry provides the foundation for changing thinking. Linda has delivered a masterful tool for creating success, prosperity, and improved health in simple, everyday terms. Using the principles in Riches and Honor can dramatically increase the level of job satisfaction people experience as well as productivity and bottom line business success.

Linda C. Newberry is an author and publisher with her own company, Tarshish Productions. RICHES and HONOR is available online at www.richesandhonor.com. The author welcomes comments, feedback, and suggestions that will improve the quality of life for her audience.
