KIRKLAND PERFORMANCE CENTER Starts Their Season Swinging

1940s Musical Revue Brings Big Band to KPCs Stage

Swing along with the String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra at Kirkland Performance Center Sunday, September 18, as the 11th Annual tour of IN THE MOOD, a 1940s musical revue, opens the 2005-2006 season.

Much more than a concert, IN THE MOOD takes us back to the youth of Americas greatest generation. This was a time like no other in our history, a time when music moved the Nations spirit. Brassy up-tempo big band instrumentals and romantic ballads will surely get your feet tapping into the era of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra and many more.

IN THE MOOD began touring in 1994 following an overwhelming response from a performance on the steps of the National Archives in Washington, DC. Through its musical influence, it became part of the official entertainment for the World USOs 50th commemoration of WW II.

IN THE MOOD was conceived by Washington, DCs musical producer Bud Forrest. The musical features the In the Mood Singers and Dancers with the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra with arrangements, costumes and choreography as authentic as it gets.

Kirkland Performance Centers presentation of In the Mood is made possible in part by our generous artist sponsors: Grant & Nancy Silvernale.
