Virtual Becomes Reality for Oak Ridge Tennessee High School Alumni Group

ORHSAlumni.com proudly announces the ORHS Alumni B.A.S.H. (Bringing All Students Home).

(PRWEB) August 28, 2005 -- On Friday and Saturday, October 28th and 29th the city of Oak Ridge, Tennessee will be teeming with former students and staff of Oak Ridge High School from all graduating years since its historic beginning behind the fences of the Manhattan Project's Secret City, Oak Ridge.

The ORHS Bring All Students Home (BASH) is much more than just a reunion for a specific class. It is open to all graduating years from the first in 1945 right on through to this year's, 2005 and we hope our unique format will afford everyone the opportunity to renew old friendships. While the event at the Pollard Center is the only pre-planned event by ORHSAlumni.com, "we are encouraging individual graduating years to form their own class-groups and plan additional activities throughout the weekend which will complement the Saturday night BASH gala" says BASH "Instigator", Andy Jones('74). Special space for communication and coordination of class-groups has been provided on the ORHSAlumni.com website located at http://www.orhsalumni.com.

Andy Jones went on to say, "I have been asked ONE SINGLE QUESTION more than any other during my years with the Yahoo group and ORHSAlumni.com. It is always a variation of "When is XXXX having a reunion? Or "Why DIDN'T XXXX have a reunion?" Well, there is no excuse now. Contact people you have been in touch with over the years, network to get the word out, set up your class-groups and TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY. IT'S YOURS - HAVE FUN WITH IT."

The weekend is sure to be a special weekend.
Friday October 28th is the ORHS vs. Farragut football game. The Bands. The fans. A Wildcat home game that is guaranteed to be a barnburner. What a great opportunity to set something up with classmates to enjoy the game.

Saturday October 29th - Lot's to do and see in and around Oak Ridge these days. Getting "Class Groups" together for lunch, a round of golf, museum tours, a historic train ride or many other interesting things to see and do in Oak Ridge is the order of the day. Then at 8pm, the crowning event of the weekend, the Grand Gala Event at the Pollard Ctr.- The B.A.S.H.- Music, cocktails and friends to share it all with.

Sunday, October 30th provides time for brunch with a few close friends prior to departure or perhaps more golf or just relaxing with friends and family.

Communication is the key and that's what ORHSAlumni.com is all about. This magic weekend can turn virtual into reality. While most class reunions require the purchase of tickets to attend the events, the ORHS BASH does not. "We simply suggest a donation of $20.00 per couple to help defray the costs involved with Saturday nights event," said Mr. Jones "and a complete accounting is available on the website," Corporate sponsorships are also accepted for the event. Any money donated for the BASH that is over and above the actual event's expenses will be donated to the Oak Ridge Childrens Museum by the alumni group.

ORHSAlumni.com has arranged Special discount rates for BASH attendees with the following hotels in Oak Ridge: the Comfort Inn, the Double Tree Hotel, the Hampton Inn and the Jameson Inn. Complete information is available on the ORHSAlumni.com website.

All Former students and staff need to register. Registration can be taken care of online at the following website address http://www.orhsalumni.com/bash.htm Donations of $20 per couple are suggested. Donations may be made via PayPal or check at the above URL and by U.S. Mail at ORHS BASH, PO Box 2146, Van Alstyne, TX 75495.
