Financial planners will meet in Washington, D.C., Oct. 5-6, for an intensive two-day training course to gain the designation as a Certified Federal Employee Benefits Specialist (CFEBS) (http://www.FEBSI.com).
The CFEBS course and designation equips financial and estate planners, investment advisors, insurance agents, tax preparers and other professionals with a thorough understanding of federal benefits and associated retirement planning.

Often overlooked by financial professionals, the federal and postal employee market consists of more than 2.5 million people. U.S. federal government employment statistics indicate that approximately 50 percent of federal employees will be eligible to retire in five years.
