New Coastal Vacations Sales Center Opens to Cheers and Jeers

The grand opening and expansion of Coastal Vacations' largest worldwide marketer of travel products Monday was not flawless. By day two, their staff had cleared up many or the technical issues that slowed sales the first day their new Tempe Arizona call center went operational.

The long anticipated grand opening of the Coastal Vacations Sales Center by Clear Business Solutions on August 22nd was marred by technical issues. By day two, many of the telecommunications problems had been ironed out, and by the end of the week the sales staff at the Tempe, Arizona, call center were smiling and dialing.

A statement from company founder Paul Langley attributed the phone problems to difficulties long distance carrier Quest Communications was having in the area and not the company's new $30,000 phone system. By midday Monday, the company reported that their answering service and incoming lines were fine, but they were unable to make outgoing long distance calls. Through the week, sales representatives cleared their backlog by returning calls, and were all caught up by Friday.
