New this year is a Lifestyle & Business Expo featuring over 40 businesses and community organizations serving the San Gabriel Valley GLBT community. Throughout the day there will be Lifestyle workshops. These panels consist of professionals from the community itself covering such topics Domestic Partnership Update, Home Buying, Personal Finance and Financial Planning, I'm Young and Gay - Now what?!, Gay and Gray - Now what?! are planned.
The professionals invited to participate are from such organizations as the Business Alliance of Los Angeles - LA's LGBT Chamber, the Long Beach Community Business Network, Lambda Legal, Equality California and others. The event is sponsored by the Latina/o LGBT Pride Association and Festival, Adelante Magazine, Outword Magazine and BALA The LGBT Chamber of Commerce with others joining daily as the event approaches.
Families are once again invited to participate in the day's celebration of Pride as PFLAG Pasadena will be present to support family activities, as well as provide valuable information for families. Everyone is encouraged to use Memorial Park, immediately adjacent to the Senior Center as it is open to the public.
In years past, SGVP has provided an opportunity for people to try new modes of personal transportation: Big Ha's souped-up commuter bike with recumbent seat, 27 speeds, headlights, turn signals, a burglar alarm and a BMW-caliber display system with direction, altitude and weather conditions. Last year it was the electric, self-balancing Segway® Human Transporter (HT). Come find out what new, unique experience SGVP is planning this year!
Also during the event, the San Gabriel Valley Pride Program and Directory will be distributed. Advertising opportunities are available to businesses and organizations serving the San Gabriel GLBT community at large. All advertisements must be submitted by September 10th, 2005. For more information on advertisement rates visit their website at http://www.SGVPride.org. The program directory publication provides an opportunity for participants to show their interest and support of the SGV GLBT community.
This year there are many ways to offer financial support to the San Gabriel Valley Pride 2005 event in the form of Media sponsorships, Business Sponsorships, Friends of the San Gabriel Pride 2005 financial contributions and Business Expo participation and program advertising. All sponsorships and contributions options include public recognition. If you are interested in offering financial support in any amount, you are sure to find an option that fits your needs and budget.
There is more to celebrate as recently San Gabriel Valley Pride Inc., received designation as a 501(c) (3) non-profit, charitable organization. San Gabriel Valley Pride Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to educate and raise awareness of the community at large about Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender culture; to instill a sense of pride and respect among the members of the GLBT community.
