"We are delighted to have Mr. Way join our organization," said Tony P. Montalte, general manager. "Mr. Way comes to us with over 35 years Certified Flight Instruction experience under his belt and is highly regarded as an innovator and industry leader. His skills, expertise and leadership will benefit us greatly." Mr. Way will enhance our growing market share and presence in the Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama area.
Mr. Way From 1999 to 2003, held the position of Flight Instructor / Evaluator and he had previously served as an Aviation Safety Inspector for The Federal Aviation Administration. Mr. Way has logged over 30,000 Flight hours with over 20,000 actual flight Instruction with a pass rate of 97 percent.
Montalte states the decision to add additional Instructors was reached in view of the fact that the Company has far exceeded its corporate and financial goals since the announcement of its Guarantee. The introduction to Guarantee all AFITÂs services came 20 months ago when the company realized the huge potential for gaining market share in the Accelerated Aviation Training industry by guaranteeing itÂs Accelerated Flight & Instrument Training services and continuing their complete and innovative "Turn Key Training Courses."
"WeÂre seeing a number of positive indications that our clients are turning more to the latest Avionics and increasingly insist upon actual training without the use of simulators," says Montalte. "More than 90 percent of our clients in 2004 rated their training experience with AFIT very good, or excellent. In comparison to any previous training they have had. In 2004 over 60 percent of our overall business came from repeat or referral business. We continue to make headway by taking the positive and steady route, taking advantage of the fact we offer a variety of Accelerated Flight Training solutions which are particularly reassuring to our clients. These are exactly the kinds of messages our clients are looking for in order to respond and eliminate any apprehensions they may have towards accelerated courses.
Our success is largely due to the quality of our Instrument Flight Instructors, says Montalte. The average age of an Instructor is 55. Instructors average 8,000 to 20,000 hours logged flight time and 2,000 to 8,000 hours of logged instrument time.
AFIT now has 46 trained and licensed Senior Instructors located across the United States with heavy concentrations in California, Texas, Arkansas, East Coast, Florida, and throughout the Midwest specializing in High Performance aircraft. All are full time instructors dedicated to AFIT and its core focus of training pilots to certification in 10 days with no prior training. In less time if some prior training has been achieved. If a client finishes his or her course earlier than what was quoted, they are not charged for days not utilized.
Bill Fischer, the company's chief pilot, states, AFIT does not differ between finish up and refresher courses. All our training is important to for the clients and all clients receive undivided attention. Each client has individual needs, thus, different number of days required to complete their training depending upon previous experience, training and avionics on board. We determine the time needed in our primary contact and then commit to the client in writing.
As far as we are aware, we are the only flight training organization in the United States that guarantees their courses. The response to the Guarantee has been overwhelming and keeps our instructors busy full time, year round.
