Background

The Dome of the Rock is the third most holy site for 1.3 billion Muslims. They believe from this location, Mt. Moriah, Mohammad ascended into Heaven in a night journey. When Islam conquered Byzantium in A.D. 637, they built the Dome of the Rock 50 years later to commemorate Mohammed ascension from Mt. Moriah, and the conquest of Islam over Christianity and Judaism.

Underneath the Dome of the Rock is Mt. Moriah, from here God promised Abraham and his descendents the land of Israel over 4000 years ago (Genesis 12:7). Later, God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac at the top of Mt. Moriah, but the Angel of the Lord prevented him (Gensis 22:7). One thousand years later, King David purchased the land of Mt. Moriah for a Temple. In 960 B.C., Solomon, David's son built the First Temple on this location (II Chronicles 3:1).

The Temple was later destroyed by the Babylonian armies in 586 B.C.. Seventy years later a second Temple was built, the Second Temple, only to be destroyed again by the Romans in A.D. 70 under the future emperor Titus. Six hundred years later the Muslims built the Dome of the Rock over Mt. Moriah in A.D. 687.

Today the Dome of the Rock stands on this site and is the third most holy spot for Islam's 1.3-billion worshipers. This same location, Mt. Moriah, is the most Holy site for 20-million Jews. In Israel today, there is a growing movement to rebuild the Jewish Temple, The Third Temple. In order for the Temple to be rebuilt, the Dome of the Rock must be destroyed. This would cause the Islam to rise against Israel like never before, starting World War III. This is precisely what the Bible says is going to happen.

The Seventy Weeks of Daniel

Daniel was a captive of the Babylonians for 67 years and prayed in 539 B.C. for Jerusalem to be restored and the Temple to be rebuilt. God sent the angel Gabriel to answer Daniel's prayer, by explaining to him God's prophetic clock, "Daniel's Seventy Weeks". The angel informed Daniel, Jerusalem and the Temple would be rebuilt. After the Temple is rebuilt the Messiah would come and be killed, then Jerusalem and the Second Temple would be destroyed. Following its destruction would be a period of desolation on Jerusalem.

Then in the End-of-Days the Temple would be rebuilt, The Third Temple, leading to a period of horrific tribulation, the time of Jacob's Trouble (Jeremiah 30:7, Daniel 12:1). The events of September 11th can be traced directly back to the conflict over Jerusalem. This is just the beginning of events about to take place.
