Local Author Unravels Mysteries by Day and Creates Them at Night

The Atlanta-based Network specialist’s daytime culprits are solving network troubles, but at night Diane Dorce weaves tales of murder, love, suspense and mystery as she pursues her 15-year love of writing. Her latest creation is the soon-to-be-released novel "Devil in the Mist." Stripped from today’s headlines Ms. Dorce weaves a tale of suspense that touches on some very major issues facing the world today, AIDS, biological weapons, terrorist threats, and government conspiracies. Her latest creation is the soon-to-be-released novel "Devil in the Mist." "Devil in the Mist" is timely and real. Stripped from today’s headlines Ms. Dorce weaves a tale of suspense that touches on some very major issues facing the world today, AIDS, biological weapons, terrorist threats, and government conspiracies. Yes, the sky is falling … but along comes a hero to save the day.

"Devil in the Mist" introduces protagonist Zack Monstar, an Atlanta detective, who is deeply involved in the investigation of the death of two men. One of the men mysteriously dies from a viral disease. Zack later discovers that the man’s death is a result of a diabolical viral warfare conspiracy. With the help of a beautiful heroine, Zack sets out to expose the conspiracy and the men behind it.

If you think some elements of the plot sound vaguely familiar – you are right. Diane loves mystery and suspense novels that are based on historical fact and for this particular novel, locale is everything. Local readers will feel right at home while reading this novel, which takes place in and around Atlanta.

"Atlanta has so much to offer a writer because there are so many parts to the city, but what I write about and love to describe is its soul and Atlanta's got a whole lot of soul," she said.

Atlanta's very own, Diane Dorce' will be one of the featured authors at the RAWSISTAZ Affair 2005. This nationally known book club’s 5 year anniversary, takes place the weekend of September 16th-18th at the Sheraton-Midtown Atlanta Hotel.
