The Great Green Earth Bag will provide retailers through North America with new alternatives for their customers. "A growing list of communities, ranging from San Francisco, CA to Prince Edward Island in Canada are turning to the BPI symbol as a way of knowing that products will compost as expected," Mojo added. The "Compostable Logo" is now on bags, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, salad, fruit and vegetable containers.
Zerust Consumer products is a joint venture with North Technologies International Corporation (NTIC). It was formed to develop and market consumer products using technologies and innovations developed by or for NTIC.
The BPI is designed to be a multi-stakeholder group, involving people and organizations that produce, use or recover biodegradable plastic products. It promotes the growth of biodegradable plastics through education, use of scientifically based standards and cooperative efforts with organizations in Europe and Asia.
