Solution Removes Geography as Barrier to Deposits

Goldleaf Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Web-based ACH and check electronification solutions, announced today that Idaho Falls, ID-based Bank of Idaho has chosen Goldleaf's Remote Deposit Express™ solution to provide business customers with remote Web-based truncation and submission of check deposits.

“In Idaho, our customers are spread over a large geographical area, and Remote Deposit Express removes geography as a barrier to servicing and soliciting deposit account relationships,” says Jeff Jones, Executive Vice President and COO of Bank of Idaho. “Offering remote deposit also helps us compete against big banks that are beginning to roll out similar services,” says Jones. “Time is of the essence, and we knew Goldleaf's remote deposit solution was already in production at numerous other community banks across the country.”

Remote Deposit Express is a Web-based, bank-branded, front-end solution that requires no software installation. Merchants scan, truncate, and submit checks electronically through a secure, 128-bit RS4 encrypted Internet connection. Financial institutions may process the standardized X9.37 check image files electronically or on paper as substitute checks, making implementation of Remote Deposit Express independent of an institution's Check 21 readiness on the backend.

Remote Deposit Express is a simple, optional module of the existing Web-based Goldleaf Client system that many financial institutions already use to provide ACH origination services. As such, financial institutions may now offer remote deposit (i.e., check truncation) services and/or ACH origination/check-conversion services to participating businesses via a single Web-based, front-end solution using a single check scanner.
