An edgy mix of Sex & The City meets Chicken Soup for the Soul, the site’s popularity has rapidly grown in the last year, much to the amazement of creator Lisa Steadman, AKA The Relationship Journalist™.

"It’s great when you create something that’s meaningful to you only to discover that so many other people dig it, too," says Steadman, who created the site after a particularly painful breakup.

"It’s so easy to be negative when it comes to breaking up. Yes, breakups are painful. But you know what? They’re also fabulous. And freeing. And we always learn something, which was the impetus for the site."

BreakupChronicles.com receives thousands of visitors a week. In addition to the personal stories people submit, the site also provides weekly updates on celebrity splits, as well as a weekly dose of wild, wacky, and weird user-generated breakup scenarios in its Splittsville, USA column. The Breakup Chronicles even offers free online dating at partner site http://www.ItsJustCoffee.com, the online destination for authentic, playful, and smart people looking for an alternative to the meat market and marriage-minded sites. And as the site celebrates its first anniversary, Steadman is quick to point out that you don’t have to be heartbroken to get it.

As for the future of this rebel relationship site, Steadman’s always on the lookout for great breakup stories, and is currently working on syndicating her content. A book deal is also in the works.
