Rebel Relationship Site "BreakupChronicles.com" Celebrates One Year Anniversary
BreakupChronicles.com features true life tales of how breaking up with the wrong person was the right thing to do.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 5, 2005 -- Theres an anniversary for everything. Weddings, babies...breakups? Rebel relationship site www.BreakupChronicles.com celebrates its one year anniversary in September. Launched in 2004, the site features user-generated stories of how breaking up with the wrong person was the right thing to do. An edgy mix of Sex & The City meets Chicken Soup for the Soul, the sites popularity has rapidly grown in the last year, much to the amazement of creator Lisa Steadman, AKA The Relationship Journalist.
"Its great when you create something thats meaningful to you only to discover that so many other people dig it, too," says Steadman, who created the site after a particularly painful breakup.
"Its so easy to be negative when it comes to breaking up. Yes, breakups are painful. But you know what? Theyre also fabulous. And freeing. And we always learn something, which was the impetus for the site."
BreakupChronicles.com receives thousands of visitors a week. In addition to the personal stories people submit, the site also provides weekly updates on celebrity splits, as well as a weekly dose of wild, wacky, and weird user-generated breakup scenarios in its Splittsville, USA column. The Breakup Chronicles even offers free online dating at partner site www.ItsJustCoffee.com, the online destination for authentic, playful, and smart people looking for an alternative to the meat market and marriage-minded sites. Also on the site is a compilation of breakup quotes, a selection of audio breakup stories, and site testimonials from everyone from Chicken Soups Jack Canfield to Breakup Girl creator Lynn Harris.
And as the site celebrates its first anniversary, Steadman is quick to point out that you dont have to be heartbroken to get it.
"I get emails from people who have been happily married for years, or in otherwise great relationships. And they love the site. They share their stories from past breakups and what they learned that helped them in their current relationships. I love that!"
As for the future of this rebel relationship site, Steadmans always on the lookout for great breakup stories, and is currently working on syndicating her content. A book deal is also in the works.
