Sarasota FL (PRWEB) September 1, 2005 - MP Artworks, a Florida-
based fine art studio and Internet retailer, will donate 10% of the profits from all sales during September 2005 toward relief efforts for the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. This applies to all sales from all ketubah, accessory and fine art product lines -- ketubahSTUDIO, ketubah4less and items on http://www.mpartworks.com -- and purchases made through its sites, as well as its authorized dealers throughout the United States.
The charities -- to benefit both human and animal victims of this natural disaster -- will be designated after polling the firm's clients during this one-month period.
When video and photographs began to surface Tuesday, and it became clear that the worst -- especially for New Orleans residents -- was not over, the decision was made to Âdo our part, said Micah Parker, MP Artworks co-founder. ÂSince we're based on the Gulf Coast ourselves, we are very conscious of the potential threat each tropical disturbance can cause, he continued. ÂThere's nothing more personal than families, homes and livelihoods being at stake, especially when 'getting out of the way' is often times easier said than done.
ÂBoth as a company and as individuals, we and our employees have ties to the area family, friends, clients, associates and fond memories, Parker said. ÂMy wife, Mindy, and I got engaged in New Orleans, we went there the day after we officially started Micah Parker Artworks, and we try to return every year.
ÂThey've got a long road ahead of them as they try to get back to something that resembles normalcy, and this is one way we can contribute toward making that happen.Â
