When video and photographs began to surface Tuesday, and it became clear that the worst -- especially for New Orleans residents -- was not over, the decision was made to “do our part,” said Micah Parker, MP Artworks co-founder. “Since we're based on the Gulf Coast ourselves, we are very conscious of the potential threat each tropical disturbance can cause,” he continued. “There's nothing more personal than families, homes and livelihoods being at stake, especially when 'getting out of the way' is often times easier said than done.

“Both as a company and as individuals, we and our employees have ties to the area… family, friends, clients, associates and fond memories,” Parker said. “My wife, Mindy, and I got engaged in New Orleans, we went there the day after we officially started Micah Parker Artworks, and we try to return every year.

“They've got a long road ahead of them as they try to get back to something that resembles normalcy, and this is one way we can contribute toward making that happen.”
