Two Guys from the South Use the Internet to Raise More Than $7,000 in 24 Hours For Katrina Victims. People from all over the world are donating to their "grass roots" journey to help those in need.
(PRWEB) September 2, 2005 -- Two Internet marketers use their
skills and knowledge combined with the reach of the Internet to help raise thousands of dollars for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Greg Rozsa, small business owner of an Internet Marketing firm and Jeff
Little, Internet marketer, devised a plan to help the victims of Katrina. The feedback and response from people around the world has been beyond their wildest dreams.
Originally, Mr. Rozsa decided to travel from his Tallahassee home to New
Orleans in a rental truck full of supplies. He planned on renting the truck, paying for gas and to help stock the truck full of supplies. Mr. Rozsa and Mr. Little decided to try to raise funds using the Internet to hopefully raise at least $1,000 to help purchase food, water and other needed supplies for the hurricane victims.
Amazingly enough, the simple website Mr. Rozsa developed to help raise the funds at www.HelpWithKatrina.com has become a raging success. In the first 24 hours of the site "going live", Mr. Rozsa and Mr. Little were able to raise more than $7,000 with the assistance of friends, family and fellow business colleagues.
There were even three people the very first day who each donated $1,000 to the cause. Incredibly, there are people donating to the "mission" from all over the world including Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Germany and virtually every state in the US.
Mr. Rozsa plans to begin his voyage to Louisiana on Sept. 9, 2005. At the current rate of donations coming in, he will most likely need more than one truck to carry supplies to the people in need. He is talking with several companies to help get supplies at cost or even donated in full if he delivers them to those in need.
