LuminOre Wins Big at AWFS® Vegas Show

LuminOre's patented spray-on metal coatings hit the jackpot among buyers and manufacturers at the recent AWFS Vegas trade show.

Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) September 3, 2005 -- From the glittering domes of The Bellagio to the architectural artistry of the all-new Wynn Las Vegas, the mesmerizing metal coatings of LuminOre® Inc. may not be strangers to some Las Vegas patrons. But for the buyers and manufacturers attending the recent Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers' biennial trade show (AWFS® Vegas), LuminOre's patented spray-on metallizing process turned more heads than a Hard Ten.

Sponsored by the United States' largest national trade association representing companies that supply the home and commercial furnishing industry, AWFS® Vegas attracts thousands of representatives in the wood and home furnishings markets from around the world, and for many of them it was their first opportunity to see the revolutionary composite metal application patented by LuminOre Inc. of Carlsbad, Calif.

"The feedback we received at the show was absolutely incredible," says Tom Valente, founder and president of LuminOre Inc. "Furnishing manufacturers and furniture designers very often require unique applications in metals and metal alloys to achieve a desired look. And, as the trade show attendees realized that our metallizing process can provide spectacular effects without the weight and expense of casting, plating or forging, they were amazed at the possibilities."

Valente explains LuminOre's metallizing process allows a thin layer of metal to be applied over any substrate, in nearly any shape and design, using conventional spray equipment. From foam to fiberglass or plaster to paper, the LuminOre spray-on coatings adhere to most any surface and, once cured, the product possesses many of the exact same characteristics of a cast metal, including texture, luster and heat conductivity.

"The LuminOre process has been a fantastic addition to our line of fine furnishings because it enhances the combinations of materials we use," offers Art Barber, president and CEO of Charleston Forge, a licensee of LuminOre and an exhibitor at this year's AWFS Vegas. "We can coat a piece of slate with LuminOre copper, for example, and it retains the integrity and actual texture of slate, but now it has the look, texture, luster and heat conductivity of solid-cast copper. The result is phenomenal."

LuminOre metal finishes can create countless products that otherwise might be too impractical or too expensive to produce by traditional casting or forging, explains Barber. For example, furniture or other items that would be too heavy if made of solid metal can now be made with LuminOre metal finishes at a fraction of the weight and at a fraction of the cost. LuminOre composite metals are available in aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, nickel-silver, stainless steel, X-metal and Z3.
