New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) September 2, 2005
A free, searchable database of people displaced by Hurricane Katrina, as well as their current contact information, is now available online at http://www.neworleansinfo.org. The goal of the site is to re-connect the community and allow people to keep their contact information current as they move.
"My family left New Orleans on Saturday and have lived several places since," explained site founder David Martin. "I became concerned that no one could find us and decided to make this searchable database for our community to re-connect with one another."
Neworleansinfo.org is a completely non-commercial effort, and the information gathered on the site will never be sold.
Families can list themselves and anyone travelling with them at on the site for free. Users provide the names of anyone with them, a pre-Katrina location to help others know they have found the correct person, and a current set of contact information. As they move they can update their current contact information as often as necessary.
This information can be searched by name, with an alphabetical list of matches provided.
This site was created and is maintained by David Martin of NolaFlash.com.
