All Wrapped Up Begins Shipping Katrina Relief Contributions

Mill Valley business forwards disaster relief items to hurricane Katrina victims.

Mill Valley, CA (PRWEB) September 2, 2005 -- All Wrapped Up, a Mill Valley Mail and Parcel Center, has connected with an affiliate store near Baton Rouge Louisiana to get needed goods into the hands of hurricane Katrina refugees. All Wrapped Up is currently accepting donation of goods that will be packed and shipped free of charge to an outer lying New Orleans area for distribution to relief shelters.

The devastation from Katrina continues to worsen throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. This disaster is proving to be of epic proportions and will affect hundreds of thousands of Americans at the most basic levels - lack of food, water, clothing, safe housing, etc.

In a time of what is desperation for many, the Association of Mail and Parcel Centers (AMPC) has called on its member stores to combine their resources to help those in need. All Wrapped Up will collect relief supplies and ship them to an AMPC store near the devastation. Located about 100 miles from New Orleans, the Ship-N-Store is a combination mail and parcel center and self-storage facility that will serve as a delivery hub for relief-related items. The store is located in close proximity to a church that will assist in distributing the items, and because of their access to storage, Ship-N-Store can accept large shipments.

"Reading about the numerous acts of selfless heroism in the destruction zone, Im overwhelmed by the courage and compassion displayed by these people," says Lisa Walsmith who operates All Wrapped Up with her husband Ross. "What were doing is so small, but still Im pleased we have this opportunity to help. Its important to get goods directly into the hands of those in need as soon as we possibly can. They say every little bit counts," added Walsmith.

Donations can be made at All Wrapped Up, 38 Miller Avenue, Mill Valley. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri 8:30-5:00, Sat 9:00-5:00.
