In response to concerns by merchants and affiliates, MaxBounty.com announces stricter restrictions on what type of affiliates it will allow to participate in it latest upgrade to an open marketplace. In particular purveyors of adware, theftware and spyware are not welcome.
(PRWEB) September 6, 2005 -- In response to concerns by merchants and affiliates, MaxBounty.com announces stricter restrictions on what type of affiliates it will allow to participate in it latest upgrade to an open marketplace. In particular purveyors of adware, theftware and spyware are not welcome.
We all know there are certain downloadable applications out there that allow third parties to overwrite network tracking links and essentially steal commission from affiliates. Such rogue companies are not welcome to participate in the MaxBounty.com network. Any such affiliate applying to MaxBounty will be immediately rejected, and any current affiliates found breaking our network terms will be booted. Inclusive to our rejections are also websites using forced installs to show advertisements and spyware of any kind.
There was a concern with our switch to MaxBounty 2.0 that the onus of finding and deciding on these "bad" affiliates will be on the merchant. We certainly suggest a merchant educate themselves on these types of affiliates, but should also know that MaxBounty pre-screens all affiliates applying to the network for quality, fraud, and now adware/spyware will be added to the list.
Such activity has always been against MaxBounty.com's affiliate terms, but some companies do still try to get into the network without announcing their intentions or disclosing their sources of traffic. Our announcement is simply a reminder of our terms and that we'll be exceptionally vigilant going forward in detecting and removing trouble makers with a zero tolerance policy.
