Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity Celebrates Five Years of Entertainment Industry Support. The Â?Fall Blitz BuildÂ? Draws a Hollywood WhoÂ?s Who to Combat Poverty Housing in Los Angeles Neighborhood in September.

Hollywood For Habitat For Humanity (HFHFH) will once again unite the entertainment industry to tackle poverty housing hands-on with its ‘Fall Blitz Build’ September 10th through 24th in Torrance, California. The kick off on September 10th and closing event on September 24th will feature high profile executives and celebrities from Fox’s “Arrested Development” on the 10th and from Warner Bros. Television’s hit shows on the 24th. For a complete list of attendees, see the end of the release or visit http://www.hollywoodforhabitat.com.

Randall Wallace (Director/Screenwriter) founded HFHFH to galvanize the Hollywood community to support Habitat for Humanity’s goal of ridding the world of poverty housing. The Fall Blitz Build marks the 5th anniversary for HFHFH. This year’s sponsors and supporting companies include Fox Broadcasting Company and 20th Century Fox Television, Endeavor Agency, The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, United Talent Agency, Warner Bros. Television, William Morris Agency, Wheelhouse Entertainment, Citigroup, Archstone Smith and Ziffren, Brittenham, Branca, Fischer, Gilbert-Lurie, Stiffelman, & Cook, LLP.

Wallace says, “HFHFH has become what we dreamed together at its beginning; a gift of grace to deserving families and a transforming experience for all of us in the entertainment community. It’s pure fun and pure joy; as we build houses alongside families who will make them homes, our hands get dirty and our hearts get clean.”

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, entertainment industry volunteers will help build homes for local families currently living below poverty level. These families – the future homeowners – will build side-by-side with volunteers as part of Habitat’s ‘sweat equity’ program. Each family selected must put in at least 500 hours of build time on their home as a down payment before paying back a zero interest loan.

“Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is proud to have worked hand in hand on this partnership since the beginning. Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity has increased awareness of our mission by inviting the entertainment industry to support our builds. This five year partnership with the entertainment industry has enabled us to raise over $3.5 million for the work of Habitat for Humanity, building 28 homes in Los Angeles, and over 120 homes in other nations,” says Erin Rank, President/CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.

The Fall Blitz Build is made possible by the efforts of HFHFH’s Advisory Board, Steering Committee, and hundreds of volunteers throughout the year. The build takes place Saturday, September 10th through 24th at 22526 Halldale Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90501. The Fall Blitz Build comes on the heels of the successful Power Women, Power Tools event in June featuring Maria Shriver and Hollywood’s most powerful women building homes for seven Habitat families.
