Events Industry Launches Internet Support Campaign For Katrina Victims
(PRWEB) September 5, 2005 -- Hometown Online Expos, a producer of Online Expos For Event Organizers, has launched an industry-wide Internet campaign to generate support for hurricane Katrina victims. The campaign urges Event Industry Members to stage special fundraising events in their community and coordinates successful promotions.

Local events and festivals generate large crowds in their local community and enjoy great visibility. They are therefore ideal catalysts for fundraising efforts that will benefit Katrina victims in their affected communities.
The purpose of the campaign is:
1. To motivate local events managers and vendors to launch individual Katrina fundraising campaigns.
2. To provide an industry forum for exchange of ideas to stimulate fundraising for Katrina victims.
3. To serve as a clearinghouse for bona fide information (for example, where to find Red Cross Banners, reputable donation sites, campaign marketing tools, etc.).
Hometown Expos will publish continuous updates on examples of successful Katrina Relief support promotions in the Event Industry. It has incorporated an industry-wide Link Exchange in its web site to improve coordination as well as a special industry bulletin board.
For easy reporting a free audioblog service is available whereby participating events can post their successes via cell phone. Hometown Expos itself will also coordinate special fundraising programs at its own November Online Event Expo to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims.
