Donal MacIntyre: Killer Shark Live

Donal MacIntyre the UK's best known investigative reporter, this autumn delves into the world of the Killer Shark in San Diego, California.

(PRWEB) September 5, 2005 -- Donal MacIntyre is one of the UK's best known Investigative Reporters. "Start early. Great Insurance. Don't stress out" - a byline for a journalist who is no stranger to danger and the odd adrenaline rush, often bringing fearlessness to the table.

A Milanese Model, a Nigerian Con Man, a Glaswegian Gangster and a little boy in India. The above list includes four items with no obvious relationship, but the four actually have one thing in common - they all appeared in programmes fronted by MacIntyre. These four items represent everything he enjoys about journalism: immense contrast, powerful insightful subjects, investigations that cause reaction and positive change, same game.

At its best, journalism is a tool of variety in communication, different types of stories made available to the public to keep informed and to be continually challenged.

This October MacIntyre features on "Killer Shark Live" for "FIVE" in the UK - along with science and natural history presenter Nick Baker, with analysis and expert opinions from the world's leading shark experts including shark behaviourist Melanie Paul. Diving into the world of the great white shark. A prime time series - it is event programming at its best - 7 days of live shows - which explores sharks' behavior through live underwater footage, scientific experiments and studio discussions. The Production includes a crew of 40 on a specially adapted diving boat "The Condor," stationed off Isla de Guadalupe in the Pacific Ocean.

Endemol UK subsidiary Brighter Pictures (Executive Producer Elaine Hackett ) is making "Killer Shark Live" - for "Five." MacIntyre will conduct interviews from the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in San Diego, while co-host Nick Baker will be on the Condor, diving with the sharks nightly. The series will also include footage of shark attacks, called bitemares, and will explore shark behavior and measure their strength, as well as performing a live shark autopsy.
