Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Preview New Vocation Commercials
A Roman Catholic religious order, serving throughout the United States, begins a unique vocation outreach, including television commercials.
(PRWEB) September 5, 2005 -- Starting today, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity will preview their new television commercials at www.fscc-calledtobe.org.
"Simply go to our websites 'We Invite You' page to find streaming video of our commercial series," said Sr. Julie Ann Sheahan, OSF, of the order's vocation team.
Produced as part of a proactive vocation strategy, the 30-second commercials will air in select United States markets this fall.
The commercials feature the Sisters interacting with those they serve at St. Peter's Mission School in Bapchule Arizona, St. Francis of Assisi parish in Greenwood Mississippi and various ministries in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, home to their motherhouse.
Young women in direct contact with our vocation office have told me how decisive and selective they try to be when deciding which programs to watch or websites to visit." Sr. Julie Ann said. Focus groups were also enlightening in determining the rapidly changing media habits of young women. Most do make TV viewing choices based on their faith beliefs. As Franciscans, we believe in developing the whole person. This form of media is one way of educating young women about who we are."
Those current and prospective candidates in their 20s suggested the best way to reach their peers, other young women who may be interested in knowing more about us, and possibly joining us." Sr. Julie Ann said. We present our life as a viable option. Personal invitation is always best; however, we became convinced that real conversations can begin by using the language of images and music."
The commercials are structured around the Franciscan Sister's signature line of The world needs you. God calls you. We invite you," and compliment their updated website, print advertising and radio commercials.
Established in 1869, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serve in Catholic education, health care, and parish ministries in 11 U.S. dioceses. (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Tucson, Honolulu, Chicago, Marquette, Jackson, Omaha, Columbus, and Steubenville)
