Web Development Biz Takes Steps to Comfort Little Victims of Katrina

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (PRWEB) September 5, 2005 -- CJ Marley, owner of a small web development company in Fayetteville, NC, watched CNN day after day feeling the heartbreak of victims of Katrina.

"I donated to the Red Cross," she states, "But it still didn't feel like enough." Mrs. Marley was deeply affected by the faces of the smaller victims of Katrina - the thousands of children who are now homeless, penniless and some missing parents or other loved ones.

Mrs. Marley goes on to say, "I see the pictures of these children sitting with nothing left...not even a teddy bear to hug for comfort. And then it struck me! There are bunches of agencies providing for their physical needs of water, food, clothing and shelter, but what about their emotional needs during this time?" And so she put together a website and purchased the domain, www.donateateddybear.com, to collect teddy bears, rag dolls, security blankets, baby toys or any toys that can bring a small comfort to the children when they are feeling overwhelmed by their current situation.

"I'm not trying to provide disaster relief, my wish is to provide emotional relief."

It's common practice for police officers, ems and firefighters to carry teddy bears to offer to children that are involved in the disasters they assist with. CJ Marley seeks to provide the same but on a much larger scale.

Anyone interested in donating a new or used teddy bear can do so through the website at http://www.donateateddybear.com. CJ Marley is also seeking other websites that are willing to link to the campaign to help spread the word.
