Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 6, 2005

CarrieNEWS.com, a grassroots organization headquartered in Los Angeles, California, is coordinating additional assistance for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Founded by a group of very concerned and caring fans of American Idol, and country music recording artist, Carrie Underwood, CarrieNEWS is helping to promote this very worthwhile event.

One last show has been added to the 2005 tour schedule of American Idols Live. On Sunday, September 11, there will be a second concert in Syracuse, New York. This will be a benefit concert, in which 100% of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.

According to Bryan D. Rurey, Assistant to the Executive Director, American Red Cross, Onondaga-Oswego Chapter: "The addition of this show was entirely the idea of the performers and fulfilling their desire to be a part of the solution to the growing problems in the Southern United States."

"The Idols' idea for this benefit concert, to aid those most in need in the hurricane-ravaged area, is a most noble endeavor. I applaud their efforts and will work with my fellow Carrie fans to ensure this concert is a sold-out performance" said Richard Gordon, editor of CarrieNEWS.com.

CarrieNEWS has found that many of Carrie's fans wish to take their affinity for Carrie to a higher level, and this effort is just another way they can show their support for sharing Carrie's positive and inspirational message with the world," adds Mr. Gordon. "CarrieNEWS is a project of a devoted group of Carrie's fans, whose home is at CarrieNEWS.com. Their goal is to create actions for societal improvement and to work with fellow Carrie fans in very positive and meaningful ways in order to help others."

Carrie Underwood's debut album is due in stores November 15th. She is currently on a 43-city nationwide concert tour with American Idols Live, which will now culminate in Syracuse with this benefit concert.
