Mike Honda; California Dept. of Alcohol and Drug Programs Director Kathryn Jett; Cupertino Mayor Patrick Kwok and City Councilors. CRC Health Group Chairman and CEO Dr. Barry Karlin will host the event.

The News Conference and Grand Opening will be at CRC Health Group’s new location at 20400 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Suite 600, Cupertino CA 95014.

At the news conference, CRC Health Group will announce four-year success figures of eGetgoing, its online drug addiction treatment and rehab program. Even in its early phases, eGetgoing, demonstrated high completion rates and patient satisfaction scores. The news conference will also discuss new strategies for addressing the opiate, OxyContin, and methamphetamine crises; the need for a continuum of linked drug addiction treatment approaches; and aggressive use of the Internet to improve addiction treatment assistance and efficiency, with national statistics showing Americans’ increasing use of this device. In addition, a graduate will tell a success story of her recovery from addiction that started when she was a teen and led her through rehab in one of CRC’s treatment centers.

Gen. McCaffrey added, "Through substance abuse treatment we address a profound crisis in America, reducing the associated crime, stop the stress on our health system and the drain on tax revenues by restoring productivity, and return chronic addicts to sobriety."

Both Dr. Karlin and General McCaffrey stated how happy they were that Cong. Honda, Director Jett, Mayor Kwok, community leaders, and addiction treatment experts will join in the news conference and Grand Opening so that "everyone understands that a team effort is needed to confront the drug crisis."
