It has come to the attention of Nation of Islam Minister Tony Muhammad and Muhammad's Mosque #27 of Los Angeles California, that a flyer is circulating in and around the Los Angeles area requesting that the Crips and the Bloods join the Nation of Islam in an attack on the Los Angeles Police Department.

The creation and dissemination of this flyer is an obvious and deliberate attempt by a person or persons outside of the Nation of Islam to make mischief and increase violence in Los Angeles. Re: Unauthorized “Jihad” Flyer

To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to our attention that an unauthorized flyer is circulating in the Los Angeles area that seeks the support of the Crips and Bloods for the Nation of Islam in an attack on the Los Angeles Police Department. In addition, it has come to our attention that you have posted the flyer on your website along with a story regarding the flyer and the number on the flyer.

The Nation of Islam, in general, Minister Tony Muhammad and Muhammad's Mosque #27, in particular, find the flyer to be “deeply disturbing” as well and have issued the attached statement, which formally rejects any connection to the flyer.

To be clear, Muhammad's Mosque #27 does not use the number listed on the flyer. From our understanding, the number is routed to an answering service that is not connected to Muhammad's Mosque #27 in any way. We are unfamiliar with how the number has been connected to the mosque.

Therefore, since you have been put on notice that the flyer contains false, misleading, and fraudulent information and can potentially lead to further damage and injury, we request that you remove the flyer from your website or, in the alternative, post our rebuttal to the flyer on your website with equal space and attention.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (323) 595-7877.

Sincerely, Erick Muhammad
