With the flurry on Capital Hill to make changes in the Social Security program that will have a significant impact on the lives of thousands of United States citizens, an Accessible World Symposium will present a comprehensive five hour discussion by experts focusing on the most current proposed Congressional legislation. The online interactive event will be free of charge and accessible to all interested parties with access to a computer with Internet connection. Those with a microphone will be able to speak directly to the presenters. Text messaging will also be available.

Dan Majewski, Public Affairs Specialist, Social Security Administration will kick off the event with a general overview of the program, its various aspects, entitlements, qualifying criteria, and how to apply for benefits.
Session 2: 11:00 a.m. Pacific 6:00 p.m. Universal
Joanne Butler, Social Security Consultant for Congressman Jim Mccreary(R-LA), Chair, House Social Security sub-committee. Will share with the audience the Republican position on the various proposed changes.
Session 3: 12:00 Noon Pacific 7:00 p.m. Universal
A representative from Congresswoman Nancy PelosiÂs (D-CA) office will present the Democratic position on the current issues facing the nation.
Session 4: 1:00 p.m. Pacific 8:00 p.m. Universal
Immediate Past President Joan BRODSHAUG Bernstein, Older WomenÂs League, will discuss Social Security: A System That Works for All Generations. She will include information about her organizationÂs concerns about the impact the current proposals will have upon seniors today and in the future.
Session 5: 2:00 p.m. Pacific 9:00 p.m. Universal
Barbara Jackson,Social Security Administration, will unravel many of the seemingly complicated provisions of the Work Incentives / Ticket to Work program within Social Security.
