John Corless Joins CRLO Displays Dalgety Bay, Scotland

Dr. John Corless of Santa Rosa California has joined CRLO Displays as Optical Engine Development Manager.

(PRWEB) September 9, 2005 -- CRLO Displays announces that Dr. John Corless of Santa Rosa, California, has joined the firm as Manager, Optical Engine Development.

Previously, Corless was a Research Manager and Engineering Manager with JDS Uniphase, where he led the successful development of optical engines for High Definition Rear Projection Televisions (HD-RPTVs).

"John's accomplishments in integrating microdisplays and optical engines, combined with his proven technical and management skills, make him a valuable addition to our team," said Leslie G. Polgar, CEO of CRLO Displays.

"John's optics expertise complements our established capabilities in Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal on Silicon (F-LCOS) microdisplays," said Greg Truman, COO.

Corless holds a PhD in Optics and an MS in Optical Engineering, both from University of Rochester, and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.

He will initially be based in CRLO Displays' new offices in Walnut Creek, CA (San Francisco Bay area). He and his family will later relocate to Dalgety Bay, Scotland.    

CRLO Displays Ltd. was formed in September 2004 through investments by Amadeus Capital Partners and Doughty Hansen Technology Ventures.
