Top Boston Artist Johnetta Tinker will Open Exhibit at the Gallery at Nara Luxury MedSpa

Award-winning Boston resident will showcase new "Fragmented Dimensions" exhibit.

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass (PRWEB) September 8, 2005 -- Nara Luxury Medical Spa of Southborough announced today that it will host the grand opening event of the latest exhibit at the Gallery at Nara, an art exhibition hall located in the spa itself, on September 10. The Gallery at Nara will unveil an exhibit titled Fragmented Dimensions from award-winning Boston artist Johnetta Tinker.

In Fragmented Dimensions, Tinker combines contemporary and ancient timepieces. She displays visions and feelings that represent her African ancestry and reflect her personal experiences as an African-American through a series of works in which torn shards of paper are assembled and layered onto a flat surface giving the final image a three dimensional effect. Tinker is an accomplished artist whose works have been featured in museums across the country over the last 20 years. She has received several honors including the Boston Arts Academys 2001 Honorary Artist Award. Previous exhibits of Tinkers include Worse Than Animals: Meditation on Racist and Ethnic Violence, Ancestors Known and Unknown and God Bless The Child, A Tribute to Billy Holiday.

"Nara Luxury MedSpa is synonymous with elegance, and it is an honor to be able to contribute to its luxurious environment," said Johnetta Tinker.

The Gallery at Nara is a permanent gallery that rotates works from top local and national artists. It opened December 12, 2004 with works from emerging artist Nicole Bernstein. As is the case with all works displayed at the Gallery at Nara, Tinkers works will be on sale to the spas patrons for the duration of the exhibit, which will run through the remainder of 2005.

Nara Luxury MedSpa offers minimally-invasive cosmetic medical procedures such as Botox and Restylane injections, microdermabrasions and Intense Pulsed Light treatments in the comfort of a spa-like environment that includes massages, large lounge chairs, a waterfall, a fireplace and tea and wine. The Gallery simply rounds out the luxurious setting.

"We have been committed to showcasing Bostons best local artists since we first opened the Gallery at Nara," said Dr. Joy Thompson, DBA, managing director of Nara Luxury Medical Spa and Advisory Board Member for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. "We are honored to present an accomplished artist like Johnetta Tinker, and we believe our patrons will enjoy her passionate works."
