New York (PRWEB) September 10, 2005 -- Out of Home (OOH) Pet Products has donated over 10,000 Pup Cups--water for pets--to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts of the Humane Society and the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

The SPCA, local shelters, and the Humane Society are caring for thousands of animals that have been evacuated from other shelters, pets that could not accompany their owners to the evacuation centers, and animals that have been rescued from the flooded streets and homes of Louisiana and Mississippi.

Pup Cups arrived at the SPCA of Houston today and will be distributed to shelters and triage centers. Individual cups of purified water, Pup Cups are designed so pets can drink right out of them and require no filling or clean up. Pup Cups will be used to help hydrate the thousands of animals from Louisiana and Mississippi requiring care and shelter after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Thousands of distraught residents had to make a heartbreaking decision as they evacuated their homes, forced to leave their beloved pets at shelters or even in their flooded homes, with hopes of reuniting in the future. As a result, thousands of animals are being cared for by the SPCA, the Humane Society and other rescue agencies at a triage center in Gonzales, LA before being moved to safe shelters and animal hospitals. Every day more pets are being rescued and transported out of the affected areas, one step closer to being reunited with their owners.
