Using information technology to foster collaboration and improve workflow has been at the center of Mr. McVickers twenty year career. Prior to starting GroveSite in 2002, he designed and developed a number of collaboration products, ranging from ISO 9000 document control systems, to portals for secondary education, to online corporate training platforms. Ease-of-use is the key design principle of every McVicker-architected product, as is evident in GroveSite 4.0.

McVicker grew up in an entrepreneurial home and was working for the family business, Aircast, at age ten. He started his own LAN consulting company in college and sold it four years later. McVicker was a partner at Inter-Mold, an injection molding intellectual property company, which was later acquired by Aplix
