Swisslog, a provider of automated material transport systems for hospitals, has initiated a response program to assist hospital customers impacted by the disaster

Swisslog, a provider of automated material transport systems for critical patient care in hospitals, has initiated a Hurricane Katrina response for hospital customers whose systems have been impacted by the disaster.

Swisslog is contacting customers whose systems may have been impacted by the Hurricane and is offering assistance where needed. Hospitals being contacted include not only those in the immediate area of Katrina’s impact, but also those facilities that may be experiencing higher utilization because of the transfer of patients from the affected areas. In addition, the company is increasing its inventory levels of spare parts in its main manufacturing center in Denver as well as technician’s crash kits.

“Our goal is to be ready to respond when our customers need us,” said Dennis McWherter, vice president for customer support.

Swisslog has established a tech support hotline for those hospital facilities with systems impacted by circumstances caused by the storm. Those needing assistance or have questions can contact Swisslog’s Hurricane Katrina support hotline at 1-800-393-9666. Swisslog has also established a system support Hurricane response link on its web site: and with additional support information available on its Customer Support page titled “North America Customer Support.”

Swisslog is the leading manufacturer of pneumatic tube systems and other automated material transport systems for hospitals.
