Several Dundee, MI churches are joining together with The Coffee Beanery to host a hurricane benefit concert on Sept. 17.
(PRWEB) September 10, 2005 -- A consortium of Dundee churches is co-sponsoring a concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina on Sept 17 from 5-9 pm at The Coffee Beanery, 121 Helle Blvd, across from Cabelas. The event is sponsored by the Dundee Community Church of the Nazarene, River of Life Community Church, and Dundee Assembly of God.
The devastation caused by this hurricane is almost unimaginable," said Rev. Sam Mullen, pastor of the church. Emily Rister, an 11 year-old member of our congregation came to me with the idea of helping people in the Gulf Coast region. This concert, along with several other activities, came from her ideas. God truly will speak through children to accomplish His plans."
The concert will feature several local bands, and will be held outside, weather permitting. Admission is free, and donations for Katrina relief will be accepted at The Coffee Beanery.
We are proud to be part of this community effort to help those Americans who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina," said Linda Barta, co-owner of The Coffee Beanery. To assist with the relief efforts, we will be donating 10% of our receipts during the concert to the Hurricane Katrina fund."
The church is currently collecting returnable bottles and cans as well as bottle and can receipts to include with the donations. If you have cans or bottles you would like to donate, please call the church at 734.529.5047 or bring them to the concert on Sept. 17.
